ORIENTATION PROGRAMME / REFRESHER COURSE
  • Ms. Rita Basu -  Refresher course in Environmental Studies (Interdisciplinary) conducted from   28th Dec.,  2009 to 16th Jan., 2010.
  • Ms. Koel Choudhury -  Refresher course in Economics  conducted in November 2009.
  • Ms. Indumathi B  – Orientation Programme conducted from 12th August to 11th September, 2009 under the sponsorship of the university Grants Commission & has been awarded the grade ‘A’.
  • Mithun Pillai – Orientation Programme conducted from 12th August to 11th September, 2009 under the sponsorship of the university Grants Commission & has been awarded the grade ‘A’.
  • Swati Vitkar and Komal Wategoankar to attend the orientation course in Feb 2009
 
PAPER PRESENTATIONS
  • Ms. Koel Roy Choudhury presented a paper in the International Conference on Emergent Business Models & Strategies for Knowledge Economy : Impact on Business, Government & Society”, held at IBA, Bengaluru.
  • Ms. M. S. Devi – Two Days National Seminar - Presented a paper on “Evolving Trends & Challenges Before Media” – 28th & 29th August, 2009 at N.G. Acharya & D.K. Marathe College.
  • Ms. R. Kamatchi participated in the seminar on “Cloud computing Software + Service by Microsoft Corporation Technology”, Kalina held on 4th December, 2009 at Department of Information Technology University of Mumbai.
  • Ms. Padmaja Arvind Two Days National Seminar - Presented a paper on “Evolving Trends & Challenges Before Media” – 28th & 29th August, 2009 at N.G. Acharya & D.K. Marathe College.
  • Participated & Presented Paper entitled “ Steps towards making Hariyali village, A MUTP Resettlement of Rehabilitation site an ideal one from EHH view point” in International Conference on Climate Change and sustainable management of resources held at Gwalior from 10th Nov -12th Nov 09-Pooja Desai.
  • Participated & Presented Paper entitled “ Effect of Pollution on Karnala Bird Sanctuary” in International Conference on ‘Recent Advances in Environmental Biotechnology at Mumbai from 14th to 15th Nov 2009- Jyoti G.   • Jyoti G. Koliyar participated and presented Paper entitled “ Study on status of water quality and problems contributing to corrosion in cooling tower of chemical industry” in National Congress on Corrosion Control held at Madurai Thiagarajar college of Engineering from 21st Dec to 22nd Dec 2009.
  • Participated & Presented Paper entitled “Lake water Quality Status in Nerul, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra” in International Conference on Emerging Trends in Environmental Science and Research held at St. Albert’s College Ernakulam, Kerala, South India Ernakulum from 14th Aug to 16th Aug 2009 – Jyoti G.   • Ms. Rita Basu - Participated in the workshop on “Capacity Building of Women Managers in Higher Education” – Sensitivity/ Awareness / Motivation Workshop organized by Seva Mandal Education Society’s  Dr. Bhanuben Mahendra Nanavati College of Home Science.(Sponsored by University Grants Commission).
  • Ms. Indumathi B – State Level Seminar on “Frauds in Banking, Financial Services & Insurance Sectors Controls & Preventive Strategies”. Organised in association with The Alumni Association of the college, held on 21st November, 2009  at SIES College of Commerce & Economics, Sion (E).

DEVELOPING THE RESEARCH CULTURE
  • Ms. Devi has applied for Ph.D program at SIESCOMS in the topic ” Consumer Behavior in Impulse Purchase”
  • Ms. Indumati has applied for Ph.D program at SIESCOMS in the topic ” Quality in Higher Education”
  • Ms. Bhumika has completed her M.Phil and has applied for Ph.D program at SIESCOMS in the topic ”Meditation Techniques and its impact on Quality of Life.
  • Ms Jyoti Koliyar is pursuing her PhD in environment Science.
  • Ms Rupali A. Zele is currently  pursuing her M.Phil in environment Science.
  • Ms. Smitha Ramakrishnan has completed her M.Phil
 
SET / NET ACHIEVEMENTS
  • Ms. Prasuna cleared the SET exam held in December 2009 in the subject of Management
  • Ms.Pooja Desai cleared the Set exam held in December 2009 in the subject of Environmental Science
