| It feels delighted to report on a successful year for the venues operated by the SPORTS committee of SIES(Nerul) college of Arts, Science and Commerce. At SIES we create benchmarks in excellence not only in studies but also in extracurricular activities like SPORTS and games. It indeed was an eventful year as this year we appointed a SPORTS coach Mr Riyaz Qureshi for the degree and junior college for the first time. It began with the university level SPORTS competitions. |

The students gave an overwhelming response by participating in various sporting events. The highlights for this year were games like Football, Table tennis, Badminton, Athletics, Boxing, Air Rifle shooting. The confidence after winning in various competitions motivated them to participate in more and more sporting events organized in different colleges and institutions in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. This report is a compilation of achievements and benchmarks we made in the field of SPORTS and games during the year 2010-2011.

| SPRINTS (The Annual Sports Competitions) |
| This year looking at the extraordinary sporting talents exhibited by our students outside the college, we decided to encourage building team spirit and healthy competition amongst different streams/departments. Therefore we made Sprints INTRA stream/departmental competition. This year we also included Athletics, Javelin, Discus, Shot-put ,Relay along with football, cricket, carom, table tennis and badminton. |
| At the end when we did the tally of points scored by each stream, Computer Science stream was awarded the best stream and BCOM the runner up stream. |
| I would like to sum up by saying that it was the undaunted efforts of the SPORTS coach Mr. Riyaz Qureshi, all my colleagues in the committee, an excellent team of students who participated in various SPORTING events, Principal Mrs. Rita Basu and the financial support of the management committee of S.I.E.S. which made this academic year sportingly successful. |
