The annual intercollegiate Techno IT Forum Fest was coined with the name “RENEGADE” this year. This academic year RENEGADE at SIESASCN received an overwhelming response as more than 300 students from different colleges of the city took part in a number of events. The two day techno fest concluded on Saturday with Rink Football competition which had maximum number of participation. Around 38 teams participated. The event was formally inaugurated by Dr Meera Vijay Principal, SIES(Nerul) College of Arts, Science & Commerce on Friday. RENEGADE fest included other events like CO UNTER-STRIKE AND FIFA 09 witnessed a participation of around 30 teams each consisting of 5 members for Counter strike whereas FIFA 09 had 36 individual entries. The laser acoustics added to the electric atmosphere and set in a live gaming ambience. There were 10 teams who participated in the IT quiz contest out of which 4 were shortlisted for the finals. The other events were Car racing with Robots and code Debugging.

Seminar on “Cyber Crime” was held at the SIESASCN. This was arranged in association with the Maharashtra Police. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Dattatreya Shinde DCP, Crime Branch Navi Mumbai. Shri N Raja, Jt Hon Sec of SIES Society also graced the occasion with his presence. There were three Speakers who rendered the seminar Shri.Vikas Naik Professor Maharashtra Police Academy, Shri Suresh Swami API Crime Branch, and Adv Prashant Jhala Professor of Cyber Law, Asian School of Cyber Law Pune. Several modes of cyber crimes were discussed during the function. No one is completely safe from the attack of cyber crime. To some extent any form of attack can be avoided by precautions. The seminar was very informative and gave the students and faculty a good idea about what all could go right and wrong in the cyber world. They also introduced everybody to a new full form for the abbreviation of www as World wide worry and not just World Wide Web. The seminar was well attended by nearly 180 students and faculty from many colleges in Mumbai.
