TRAINING AND PLACEMENT CELL

| Training and Placement Cell is an integral part of the SIES (Nerul) College of Arts, Science and Commerce. Training activities are organized throughout the year in an effort towards preparing the prospective students for the campus selection programmes. The cell invites various industries and reputed firms for campus recruitment. It aims to mould the students to corporate ready professionals. The cell is sensitized to function all through the year towards generating placement and training opportunities for the students. Reputed industrial houses across the country visit our institute regularly for the campus recruitment programmes. The placement cell coordinates quite well with the corporate sector and provides well-developed infrastructure to facilitate the campus selection programmes. The cell maintains a very cordial relationship with all the recruiting industries and also prepares the recruited candidates to face the competitive world. |
| India has felt some tremors of the Global recession. The economy has slowed down; this has clearly reflected on the job prospects of entry-level jobseekers this year. In the wake of the current global slowdown situation the cell has managed to keep the students zeal alive but giving them training for taking up jobs or for higher studies and also providing career guidance, so that they can take up higher studies. The placement cell at the SIES (Nerul) College of Arts, Science and Commerce came out with a new set of objectives for the students this academic year 2010-11. |

The placement cell has conducted a meeting on the 12th of July 2010. Objectives discussed were as follows :
- Placement Council members from every department preferably from the SYs from every stream had to be chosen
- Development of departmental brochure for every department.
- Development of common portal or groups for communicating placement events
- Identification of organizations to place the students.
- To conduct Career guidance seminar
- To conduct Corporate Readiness Program.

| Activities conducted from June - September 2010 |
- “Career Guidance” Seminar by Mr Anand Patil was held on 5th August 2010 for TY BSc IT and MSc IT Students.
- Placement event by Wipro BPO was held in Sept 2010 and nearly 20 students were placed from BCOM and BSc CS
