| KALASADHNA YUVA MANCH

| On the auspicious occasion of Devashayani AAshadhi Ekadashi on 21st July, 2010 Kalasadhana Yuva manch (Marathi vangmay mandal)club of SIES (Nerul) college of Arts, Science and Commerce organized various cultural activities. The main objective of the club is to promote Marathi Art and culture and to popularize the rich Marathi literature amongst the youth. |
| The event started with a procession(Dindi) from the college till the auditorium in which students from different streams of the college enthusiastically participated in this procession. They were traditionally dressed and were chanting Lord Vithal’s name which increased the curiosity of everyone about the programme. |
| After the procession reached the Auditorium tha lamp lighting ceremony was followed by the importance of this auspicious day. Then there were various cultural programmes based on theme of the day which were entertaining as well as informative. The overview about the programmes conducted by Kaladsadhana Yuva manch last year and the future project were announced by the Convenor of the club Prof Swati Vitkar. Principal Dr. Meera Vijay, Prof Komal Wategaonkar, Prof. Rajashri Shinde, Prof Monica Jundre, Prof Sunita Ambore and student secretary Subhsha along with other students and nonteaching staff made special efforts to make this programme a grand success.

| We also organized a one day excursion for the club members to a picnic spot called ‘Padsare’ near Pali. There we have conducted various traditional games through which they have been made aware of the Marathi culture. Prof Swati Vitkar and Prof. Komal Tembulkar accompanied them. They experienced great fun there.

| Now we want to promote the students towards Marathi theatre, so we are planning to keep acting workshop and also planning for the creativity week in which we are going to conduct art & craft related workshops and competitions. |
